Nelson Phonics helps students develop an explicit understanding of the relationships between the 26 letters of the alphabet and the 44 individual sounds that make up the English language. The program has been designed for use as part of a classroom literacy program which children at an early stage of literacy development. However, parents can also support their child’s literacy development by using Nelson Phonics at home.
